Shades - We fitter sizes from 1 1/2" tulip and lily shades
to 16" domes and all the sizes in between. Not sure what type of
shade would best match your lamp. Here are some tips. The smallest
size shade is a lily or tulip shade popular in the art noveau period you will
see these shades on brass figurine lamp of the period in a fountain of
color. The fitter size given for these and all glass shades is the size of
the opening on the lamp, not the actual size of the glass itself. For this
size shade the glass would be 1/8" to 1/4" smaller than the fitter size.
Our next most popular size fitter is the 2 1/4 Inch . This is a very
popular fitter size most often seen on ceiling light fans and small night
table decorator pieces. Many shades of this size are reproductions
pieces. There are also many new shades just out created for the revival
of the ceiling fan.
Less common are the 3 1/4 Inch and 4 Inchfitters. You will see this shade
on fixtures that have been converted from gas to electric and reproduction
pieces.
Most five to fourteen inch fitter sizes are student or pendent or
ceiling lamps. As with all shades the glass diameter will measure 1/4"
less the the fitter or ring size. With thousands of shades to choose from we
